Dunwoody American Dental Hygienists Association
About
The mission of the American Dental Hygienists Association Student Chapter is to improve the public's oral and overall health, expand access to quality oral healthcare, promote the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research while representing and promoting the interests of the dental hygiene profession. We hold membership meetings 2-3 times each semester. Our activities include community service outreach. Cultural diversity is a mainstay of our community outreach; working with our refugees, school populations, shelters, and long-term care facilities provides ADHA SC members with multicultural interaction and increased competency. Outreach events utilize experiential methods that increase student awareness and understanding of social issues and ways to address them. We include campus access to care and events for students as an integral part of our chapter activities. Furthermore, the ADHA Student Chapter experiences foster self-assessment and critical thinking skills to maximize incorporation of healthy lifestyles for themselves and others.
